Sidewalks are not for cars

I wish to respond to the letter in the Sunday, June 22 edition of The Guardian regarding parking bylaws. I like the fact that bylaw officers are ticketing vehicles that are parked across the sidewalks.
The sidewalks are for pedestrians. My wife and I walk 5 km every morning and get very annoyed when we continually are having to leave the sidewalk to walk around vehicles blocking them.
To this individual who has four vehicles but not a big enough lot to park them on, I say tough. You can afford four vehicles but not a big enough house to accommodate the parking of your four vehicles, so the rest of us have to be inconvenienced because of that. There is absolutely nothing unfair about you being ticketed, but there is something unfair about you blocking the sidewalk and inconveniencing me.
I don't care if you're only six inches across the sidewalk or two feet, the sidewalk is not for cars.
