BRAMPTON -
An 11-year-old boy and a 42-year-old man are in hospital with stab wounds after Peel police found them in a home on Purebrook Crescent early Thursday morning. Investigators are saying very little about the incident, except that they are not looking for any suspects. Both are in serious but stable condition in hospital. Police would not say what the relationship is between the two. Detectives with the Special Victims Unit have not decided if any charges will be laid against the 42-year-old man. Neighbours said the man is the boy's father and lived in the home with his parents. They said he had a shared custody arrangement with the boy's mother and the child stayed at the home from time to time. Neighbours said the suspect's brother is an officer with Peel police. Police refused to confirm reports from neighbours that the suspect suffered from mental issues. Police were brought to the home, in the area of Castlemore Road and McVean Drive, at 2:30 a.m. by a 9-1-1 call. The investigation is ongoing. With files from Torstar Network
