Mississauga – Members of the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau have charged the second and final suspect in relation to two car-jacking style robberies in February.
On Tuesday, February 5, 2008, a 67 year-old female victim was backing her 2002 Dodge Caravan out of the garage of her Hillcrest Avenue townhouse. She and her 69 year-old husband, who was waiting in the driveway, were approached by two suspects. One suspect smashed the driver’s side window and forced the female driver to the ground at gun-point. Her husband was then forced away from the vehicle at gun point. Both suspects drove off in the victims’ vehicle.
Investigators learned that shortly afterwards, this vehicle was used in the execution of another car-jacking in the City of Oshawa.
On Tuesday, April 29, 2008, investigators charged 20 year-old Carlo BRANDY with Robbery, Use of an Imitation Firearm, Wear Disguise with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence and Breach of Recognizance.
On April 22, 2008, a 16 year-old Mississauga youth was arrested in connection with this investigation and faces similar charges.
