Brampton - On Sunday, May 18, 2008, Peel Regional Police will be hosting a barbeque at Humber Nurseries, to raise money for the Special Olympics. This barbeque is one of many activities in which our law enforcement members participate in support of the Special Olympics.
Deputy Chief Dan McDonald will join Guy Peters, the owner of Humber Nurseries, in a special cheque presentation at 1:00 p.m. The funds raised will be directed to Ontario Special Olympics to help provide a local year-round program of fitness, recreation and competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympians Aaron Lindsay and Arthur Rea will also be on hand to assist with the barbeque.
Special thanks are extended to Humber Nurseries, and especially to Guy Peters, for their ongoing support of this annual event.
