BRAMPTON -
Team Canada has advanced to the semifinals at the World Hockey Championships, with plenty of help from its Brampton connections. Canada downed Finland 6-2 on Wednesday to earn the right to battle Sweden in today’s semifinal. Brampton native Rick Nash scored twice to give him five for the tourney. Others with Brampton connections to the team are Jason Spezza, Brent Burns and Mark Giordano. Spezza and Burns played with the Battalion while Giordano was a member of the Brampton Capitals.
